I agree with MonicaJ9 on the theme of forbidden love in the novel, Matched. To reiterate what Monica stated about how according to the government, Cassie was supposed to be placed with Xander, her best friend, but soon found out her true love is Ky. However Ky is an aberration, which means he cannot marry; therefore making Cassie's love with Xander forbidden. On the other hand, her love with Ky is so strong that she promises to find him and keep their love going.

I agree, the theme is definitely Forbidden love, since Cassia and Ky can't be together because he is an abberration. I also think that she may not have loved Xander as much as she thought at the very beginnning, I think he love for him was more forced.
I concur that the theme of the novel Matched is forbidden love. The society decides everything for everyone and the people go along with it, not knowing anything else. The government paired Cassia with Xander, however, Cassia's true love, Ky, is an aberration.
