Cassia believes she lives in a "perfect" world where nothing can go wrong. Society has gotten rid of worries, decisions and any thing that causes stress. illnesses are almost nonexistent. Everything is perfect, everyone is perfect but everyone is the same. Along with everyone Cassia has always trusted the Society to choose what is right for her. Society is in control of what she wears, what she owns, what she sees, and when she dies. Along whit that, society chooses who she is matched with for optimal results in reproduction and a long lasting relationship. So when her best friend, Xander,  appears on-screen at her Matching banquet, Cassia could not be happier and knows they are meant to be... but when she sees Ky Markham's face for an instant before he dissolves to black, she starts wondering. The Society has told her it's a glitch, something rare, and that she should focus on life with Xander. But Cassia and Ky can't stop thinking of each other and they fall in love. Cassia gains a new view on society and begins to doubt its impossibility's and pureness.  From spoken words by her grandfather to the written word by Ky she is slowly inspired to create her own self not what society wants her to be.
