So far in the novel Matched by Ally Condie you see the trials and difficulties Cassia the main characters go through. Cassia thought the night of her matched banquet the best night of her life. Something that she has been looking forward to since she could remember. All of that was about to change. When her match was revealed Cassia was blown away. Her match was Xander, her best friend. Cassia was so happy but confused at the same time. This rarely happens that you know your match. During the banquet you receive a micro card that has all the information you need to know about your match. Cassia already knew everything about Xander but she decided to look at anyway. What she was about to see would change her life. When she looked at the micro card another familiar face popped up, Ky Markham. That could never be because Ky's dad committed crime so he has to be single and is classified as an aberration and can never be entered in the match pool. When Cassia and Ky end up together hiking for their activity they end up talking and things are starting to stir up. Cassia was so excited to have Xander as her match but now all she can think about is it could’ve been Ky maybe even should’ve been Ky. The only problem with this is that now Xander, the man that was once Cassias best friend and did everything with, they would never be the same again.
