Post Two

The message in the novel Matched is to never give up on what you believe in. Cassia had never second guessed the government but when they refused to let her and Ky marry she knew things had to change. An official had given her a warning. On page 246 the official tells Cassia if things continue she will be an aberration and Ky will be sent back to the Outer Provinces. Cassia knew the government was supposed to help you and make things better, but they were doing the complete opposite. Cassia could have ended her dream with Ky but instead continued to flirt with him and even kissed him. She had went against the government, a terrible thing to do. When Ky was about to leave to the Outer Provinces she did not give up and let them take him away, not without a fight. Cassia chased after him with determination and when the officials told everyone to take their red pill to forget what had happened she disobeyed. When Ky had left, she still chased after him. The message Condie was trying to convey is to never give up on what you believe in and that is what Cassia did.
